October 17-18th, XXXI National Competition of Traditional Folk Dance in Rzeszów

Folkloristic Group „Szamotuły” won a grand prize in the XXXI National Competition of Traditional Folk Dance in Rzeszów.
The competition is organised each year since 1984. Its main goal is to keep the purity of Polish dances.
During the competition, judges looked at the fidelity of regional traditions, appropriate costumes and instruments and the authenticity of presented dances, songs, music and dialect.
This year there were about 600 contestants in almost 40 groups.
Multigenerational Group „Szamotuły” returned from Rzeszów with the main prize in a group category. We have presented there the „Szamotuły wedding”.
